I'm very much excited to play through Harada's route because, for those of you who didn't know, he's the only one in the anime who didn't become a fury. Although I was kind of disappointed that he didn't have a "blood" CG like the others, still his route is pretty much enjoyable.
Harada's storyline is pretty much straight forward and only one ending (woot!). In this guide, you won't need any saving/loading to do, but feel free to save/load anytime you wish. The purpose of this guide is to make sure you end the game with his ending, and not failing to leave any of his CGs along the way.

When I asked Harada to heal my heart from Saito's route, he definitely didn't fail me! Harada may not be the obvious choice to the fan girls (Hijikata/Okita/Saito being the top choices), but playing his route definitely drew out his charm. Next to Okita, he's definitely my second favorite.
Honestly, I never thought that I'd get to enjoy playing through his story line but I'm glad I did! There were a lot of times that I squealed, especially the time when *spoiler*! I do hope you get to enjoy playing through his route as much as I did! ♥
I loved Sanos route, it was really romantic. This is second best compared to Okitas. I loved it so much thanks for this tutorial!!!!

DeleteIt looks so good, my fave image in that gallery is when there dressed like a tough deliquents XD. There are two more games for this series. A game where they are all cibis and a prequal that dosent have romance.

DeletePlayed this game through, playing on harada now. They were all my favorites but Heisuke,Harada were my top two then Saito, hijikata and souji were at a tie. I cried a little at Okita's ending
ReplyDeleteahh, i think you're somewhat similar to my friend who's into cheerful/genki characters :) i like how heisuke explicitly shows his feelings towards the heroine/you especially when he overexerts himself just to protect the damsel in distress. and i most definitely can understand why you like harada as well :D okita's ending is exceptionally bittersweet, so shedding a few tears is quite alright :) i have another friend who got very, very depressed with his ending lol.

I kinda think Sano's route is the most satisfying. I don't want to lay down any spoilers, so I'll say this - what happened for Chizuru is what I wanted to see, and I didn't get the same things from the other guys. Do you know if any of the other hakuoki games will be translated to English? D: Specifically Zuisouroku? I just finished Harada's route (after Okita's and Toudou's) and I think I might die if I keep playing because they're all so... lovely and I don't want it to end gaaah ;____;

Deleteunfortunately, i do not know whether if there are plans of translating the other otome Hakuouki games. as much as i would also like all of them to have an English version, it seems like Hakuouki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~ or Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom is the only otome game from the Hakuouki series that has been translated. ;_;

inyou're welcome :) it's a little sad that the game we've been addictively playing for so long finally has to end. and yes, i'm pretty happy with harada as well. i do believe that i've mentioned this before but i'm saying it again: sanosuke harada's route is my second favorite with okita's as my first. on the contrary to your boyfriend, mine is a little bit of okita and a little bit of harada, hahaha. maybe that's why i like them so so much! :D

Sano is _way_ underrated. I never liked him too much before, but my main favorites based on the anime were always Yamazaki, Toudou and Nagakura. (all the underrated minor bishies hehe) Liking Toudou and Nagakura, I was like "eh what the hell" and went after Sano during my third time playing the game.
ReplyDeleteHe was so amazing! I loved that he never became a rasetsu, that took away the stress of "blood?! no blood?!" lol, and it gave room for so much... cotton-candy shoujo goodness. I just loved the angsty romance involving the heroine's being a demon, and Sano being a human. The part where she's about to hit the road and Sano catches her... and you get the CG >//< omg my favorite. He's so romantic and sweet, I dunno. He seems like a player but after you hear his one true dream in life, that label is vanished.
I also loved this route because of Shiranui! Dunno about anyone else but he's my favorite demon, and I just love how you come to find out so much more about him and his relationship with humans. Made me love him even more.
Overall a great route, and my favorite Kodo personality too (so far gone that it's hard to feel bad about him having to get whacked =/ so far gone...). I played Sano's route about 3 times now, haha. So simple and so beautiful though. His, Toudou's and Okita's are my favorites so far. Holding off on Hijikata because I believe the anime followed his route and ;__; just like with Kazama's ending in the game, I shed too many tears in the second season of that anime. I love his voice actor, and that's about the only reason I'm going to play Hijikata, lol. Saitou's was just a bit lackluster in the romance department. Intense CG's but I never felt the love.
oh yes, Sanosuke's route is definitely one of the best. although, i don't really know why he's that underrated, but his scenes did make me feel giddy. XD

yes. you have to end the game with harada's route before getting it. the game won't show you that you successfully got it, though. right after the ending credits roll, go to your image gallery and you'll see an additional image (harada and the petals) automatically added there. that's also how it works for the other characters including chikage kazama's :)
Deletethank you!! i love that sano is the only one who doesn't take the ochimizu bc that mean his life won't be shortened so they can live in peace without worrying when he'll use up his life & makes saving a lot simpler since he has no blood CGs. sano has always been second favourite overall but after playing he's now top favourite. I found his route to be really sweet and I love the romance between the two, I think romance-wise sano's route is the best for it (after that is souji's imo). I really enjoyed the demon/human romance thing in this route lol. I also love how sano is the only one who went all the way with chizuru and they have a son tgt, makes up for no blood CGs stuff. definitely by favourite route.
ReplyDeletetrue! souji is my fave among all of them but after this route, sano almost took souji's place in heart, haha! honestly, his character route took me by surprise since sano has always been overshadowed by toushi, souji, and saito. i'm really glad that his taking his route has shed some light on how wonderful he is. <3

Try doing the Memories section for Harada - at the end you should get the final image. Perhaps the 3DS version is a little different to the PSP one but that's how I just found my missing pics :)

ReplyDeleteyeah, i believe that he's definitely the sweetest. I go for Okita all the way since I really love his teasing and lazy smile, but Harada is still my second choice. it was worth going after his route after I did Saitou's semi-bland route (for me at least) :D
DeleteHi! I believe you've said that there's no bad ending for Harada's route, yes? I think he's got one bad ending, but without any CG. His bad ending is when at Chapter 4, you chose to run away from Shiranui when he barged into the Fushimi Magistrate Office.. The bad ending is very... straightforward.. :'(
ReplyDeleteI love his route as well! I got introduced to this fandom from the anime, and my favorite from the anime originally is Okita, and Harada at the second place! I really like both his nice and playful personality, though he might not look like an observant guy, he sure understand a lot of things by others' perspective.. It ever occurred to me if he's kind of a feminist since Shinpachi has ever mentioned him being rough to guys, but when I saw Reimeiroku with Harada keep on helping out Ibuki, I really think he's a totally nice, honest, and sincere guy, not just to women, but also to everyone.. (where can you find this kind of guy nowadays? :p )
After playing Harada's route, I have difficulty in deciding who's my favorite now between Okita and Harada.. I guess I still like Okita a tad bit more than Harada..? (Whew, I'm blabbering again, sorry! >__< )

DeleteActually there is one more bad ending with Harada on PSP. To get it you should choose all options that don't make the romance go up. Then after meeting up with Nagakura and seeing how Harada is torn between his friend and herself she decides to leave alone in search for her father and meets... well, someone - no spoilers=)

ReplyDeleteHowever, I have a problem: I followed the guide and finished the routes, but when I go into the gallery the last CG for each character is missing. I think they're the cherry blossom illustrations that are supposed to appear after finishing each character, but for both characters that I have finished I couldn't get those.
The final chapter ends, and a video plays, and that's it. The game just returns to the main menu. I don't understand what is wrong. Do the final CGs usually pop up after the video ends? Or is there something else that needs to be done? Well, I won't die, but it's still a little annoying, so I thought I might ask. :/

It was when they first met Chizuru's father in Harada's route with Harada, Shiranui fighting off the daylight furies. She started walking towards him ( this part happened cuz of an earlier WRONG choice I made, I think ) then hugged him and when they exchanged a few lines, he stabbed her. Before she slowly died away, the text box shows that Harada was crying while holding onto her. Well shit o-o
oooh~ i haven't tried the android version yet. does it have in-game purchases that you allows you to unlock stuff, or is everything free?
Deletei got the PS3 version last year, but i didn't bother playing it yet since the story was the same as the PSP version. it does have a lot of unlockables, though, so i'm still looking forward to playing it (one of these days... ._.)

I really love him!! <3 he's so cool and strong and on the other hand so kind and romantic.. and when he cuts his hair he looks really nice :D and I really like that he's the only one who fights with a spear. In some scenes my heart was beating so fast of happiness and I think one CG was a little bit erotic :'D
