Ending the month of January

so many things happened over the past two weeks. i meant to blog about them but i just felt too lazy to do it. i'm a bit behind on my work so to speak.

so last week on the 21st to the 23rd, we went to manila to attend my dad's retirement party. or ceremony. whichever. the whole thing really felt surreal; there was a part in the ceremony where my dad had to formally announce his retirement in his speech and there was some sort of ritual when i couldn't quite put my feelings on it. i was partly happy and partly sad on what was happening and i couldn't decide which emotion i had to express.

the party was a bit sad and a little bit happy since they also celebrated my dad's birthday at the same time that day. we had our early dinner at Hotel Stotsenberg and they gave my dad a scrumptious birthday photo-cake with his face on it. after everything, it was time for them to send us off as part of the ceremony. all of his co-workers lined up and my dad get to speak to them with their goodbyes. it was very sad and touching at the same time.

during our brief stay in manila and before going to Clark, we had a stop over in SM Mega Mall Edsa since we had to buy dresses for my dad's party. i thought i was going to wear slacks and a formal blouse but my mom insisted that i wear a dress. i went to Data Blitz and, with my kareshi's consent and mone, bought Wrath of the Lich King. my younger brother couldn't resist and bought the Vanilla battle chest AND Wrath of the Lich King. XD

speaking of WoW, i finally reached level 60 and we found out that i couldn't use the flying mounts (except in Outlands) if i didn't upgrade my account to Cataclysm. that was very disappointing and i had to buy Cataclysm the next day. at the same time, the family pc in the living room gut its video card busted so it was up to me (?) to look for spare parts and have it fixed. that was kinda tiring and productive day except it was our monthsary :( it was kinda sad that we had to spend our day that way: we went mall hopping and computer shop hopping in the hopes to find good quality and cheap prices. the only good thing about that day was that we ate our dinner at Ramen Tei. :)

yesterday, my friends wanted to play badminton at my kareshi's place. so we went to the clubhouse and had our badminton session there. my friend's boyfriend as well as my kareshi were there so it was a first for us to spend our girly time with guys hanging around. we were even joined by my koibito's younger sister for a couple of minutes before she went swimming. we had a lot of laughs that afternoon and it was really enjoyable. i brought Ryuu with me as we were supposed to have a photo session with one of my friend manning the camera, but unfortunately we weren't able to accomplish that.

we played for over an hour and had to pack up and take showers at my koibito's house quickly since we still had to catch a dinner with our one of our friend at Sentro. our friend just came home from the UK and she insisted that we come since she missed us. the evening was very enjoyable as well: dinner was heavenly (the desert!) and there was full of laughter. after dinner, we had to drop by our friend's house to get the ball-jointed doll (BJD) she was supposed to send me a couple of months ago. she's supposed to be a mascot, but since it's mine my friend said that i can do whatever with it (insert evil laugh here?).

(please excuse the limbs and extremities. a friend of mine held her like that so that she could stand.)

she's known as Etsuko-tan, CDOtaku's mascot, by many but i gave her a proper name and it's Amarissa Ileanna Hashimoto. she has been shipped from Spain thus the European name and i wanted to retain her supposed Japanese character. i registered her to the ManikaManila Consensus earlier and i'm still waiting for them to confirm. i still have to see if i would make a blog all about Amarissa/Etsuko or not (since it's tiresome lol); i'll just have to wait and see.

EDIT: ZOMG! i just realized that hyde-sama and Etsuko have the same birthday! :O
